Creed Wild Vetiver — Not What You Expect. Better Than You’d Hope.
Let’s address the name immediately. Wild Vetiver suggests something earthy, rooty, smoky — a fragrance that leans into the rawness of the ingredient and makes a statement with it. If that’s what you’re walking in expecting, adjust now. This is a fresh, green, citrus-led fragrance with soft florals and a clean woody base. Despite the name, it’s less about smoky, rooty vetiver and more about a bright, wearable, contemporary freshness. Once you accept that, something interesting happens — you start to appreciate it for exactly what it is.
THE OPENING
The top notes are formed by Timur berries, bergamot, and pink pepper — giving it incredible vibrancy right from the first spray. It’s fizzy, bright, and slightly tart in a way that feels genuinely alive rather than generically fresh. The very first impression is a combination of champagne, fresh fruits, and sparkling effervescence — and that effervescence is the right word for it. It doesn’t just smell clean, it smells energised.
The bergamot actually lingers for quite some time, which keeps the fragrance feeling bright throughout the wear. That’s not something you can always count on with citrus-led openings — the staying power here is a genuine plus.

THE HEART
Even the seemingly simple trio of blackcurrant, geranium, and rose joins to form a complex grouping of fruit and floral smells — the overall impact is mildly sweet, green, and harmonious with the introduction of vetiver.
The rose deserves particular mention. It’s crafted in a very watery, dewy way — fresh and airy rather than powdery or heavy. This is not a rose that announces itself. It rounds the fragrance off and adds a quiet elegance that stops the whole thing from feeling too sharp or linear. The blackcurrant runs alongside it with a juicy quality that keeps things interesting without tipping into sweetness.
THE DRY DOWN
The vetiver note is soft and green — no rooty earthiness here. The final dry down is a soft medley of the fruit and rose along with the vetiver and a slight woodiness. It settles beautifully on skin. Quiet, composed, and genuinely pleasant to be close to.
PERFORMANCE
Moderate projection with around 7 hours of wear — solid for this style of fragrance, and noticeably better than Creed’s Original Vetiver which has historically frustrated people on performance. Wild Vetiver delivers equally good DNA but with much better performance. That matters at this price point.
THE HONEST TAKE
Wild Vetiver isn’t a groundbreaking composition. It takes a familiar citrus-fresh formula and refines it into something that feels more modern and a little more unique. It won’t challenge you. But it wears beautifully, it performs well, and it has enough character across the development to reward wearing it properly rather than just spraying and walking out the door.
It doesn’t suffocate or shout — it’s the ideal companion for moments when your own authenticity matters more than whether the entire room notices you. At Creed prices, that restrained confidence either resonates with you or it doesn’t. For me, it does.
RATING: 8.2/10
Fresh, bright, quietly distinctive — and better than the name prepares you for.
