Riiffs Freeze: The Most Hyped Fragrance Of The Year — And The Worst
This one got pushed everywhere by influencers this year. Everyone was raving. First spray and I knew instantly something was wrong — this is not the fragrance the hype promised.
The Notes
Spearmint, lemon zest, bergamot, grapefruit, and an “icy” snow accord up top — on paper it should read fresh and clean. Ice, ginger, tea, and sage in the middle. Base is peony, Ambermax, and cedar. All fine on paper — the problem is how it actually comes together on skin.
Who It’s For
Honestly, I’m struggling to say. If you love aggressively synthetic, overpowering “clean” scents that read more industrial than fresh, maybe this is for you. For everyone else — I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Longevity
Strong, unfortunately. This isn’t a case of “if only it lasted longer” — it lingers, and that’s part of the problem, not a selling point.
My Honest Problem With It
It doesn’t smell like a fresh “freshie” at all. It smells like industrial toilet cleaner. Aggressively synthetic, way too strong, nothing about it feels considered or well-blended. The hype around this one is genuinely baffling to me.
So my take — skip it. Don’t buy the bottle, don’t bother with a sample, save your money entirely.
